Officials cut ribbon on 21-MW wind park in Ukraine
November 1 (Renewables Now) – Carpathian Wind LLC, part of the Eco-Optima Group, last week inaugurated the 20.7-MW Staryi Sambir-2 wind farm in Ukraine’s Lviv region.
The power facility is comprised of six 3.45-MW wind turbines of the V112 model supplied by Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems (CPH:VWS). They are installed at a site in Starosambirskiy district and are capable of generating some 56 million kWh of electricity per year.
The opening ceremony was attended by the country’s first vice prime minister Stepan Kubiv, according to an announcement from the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA).
The EUR-34-million (USD 39.5m) project was financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Clean Technology Facility (CFT), the World Bank, the IFU and the Northern Environmental Financial Corporation (NEFCO).
